ISPs

Student working in a lab

ISP stands for Independent Study Project. There are four parts to the ISP:

  1. Research conducted with a faculty mentor
  2. Sessions/workshops about completing the project successfully
  3. A written abstract for publication
  4. A formal presentation of the project

Projects are either Experimental or Experiential.

Students select a research project from a varied list of current professional research at the Pennsylvania State University College of Agricultural Sciences. The professor conducting the activity and graduate assistants serve as mentors. PGSAS students use scientific research methodology, including problem identification, resource selection, project design and formal presentation.
